As reported by the Star News on August 2, 2022,  the congregation at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester voted on Aug. 7, 2022  to close the church after the retirement of Pastor Doris Ruben that same week.

Starting in November 2022 the facility including both the church and the hall were purchased by Steeple Gallery LLC to introduce an exciting new chapter to the churches history and bring new opportunity to the community. The new direction for the facility includes a creative gallery where local and regional artists can display their work. Admission is free to the public during posted business hours or by private appointment.  In addition the Steeple Gallery offers art education workshops and is the host to a growing group of community artists known as ARTC which is an acronym for "Art Reaches the Community".  ARTC members consist of area artists from all walks of life with many different skills and practices. ARTC member's work is featured on this website under the ARTC logo.
